Oak Ridge National Laboratory Legal Internship
Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Office of General Counsel seeks 1-2 law students for its 10–12-week full-time paid internship program during the Summer of 2025.
This internship will allow students to work alongside a group of
attorneys specialized in different areas of practice, as well as research
and business staff to offer a robust and diverse experience.
This internship will provide law school students with:
- An opportunity to gain an understanding of in-house corporate counsel practice through an educationally structured work experience.
- Marketable work experience in a variety of legal fields including
government contracting, intellectual property, employment law,
and environmental health and safety (including nuclear safety and
radiological protection); - Opportunity to gain an understanding of in-house corporate counsel practice through an educationally structured work experience.
“Overall, I benefited greatly from this internship. The ability to work with so many subject matter experts was invaluable, and I am grateful for the time each attorney, paralegal, and patent agent took with me to educate and mentor me about the law… Additionally, it was invaluable to learn, by watching, listening, and through direct instruction, the different role an in-house attorney takes compared to an attorney at a law firm, and to learn more about government IP and government contracting than I would at any other position available to first year law students.”
