Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)

Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) help connect STEM undergraduates and recent graduates to cutting-edge research experiences in the spring, summer, and fall.

About the SULI program

The SULI program encourages undergraduate students and recent graduates to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers by providing research experiences at ORNL, the largest DOE science and energy lab.

“My expectations were clearly not high enough because my experience has been awesome….I am leaving this internship with more than just a completed research project. I have gained a lot of technical skills, expanded my network, and learned so much about science and national laboratories in general…. My time at ORNL has also motivated me to look into careers and opportunities at national labs in the future, especially at Oak Ridge if a chance arises again.”
