National Nuclear Security Administration Minority Serving Institutions Internship Program (MSIIP)
This internship allows undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at qualified Minority-Serving Institutions to participate in summer or year-long internships in diverse fields related to the missions of the National Nuclear Security Administrations mission.

The National Nuclear Security Administration Minority Serving Institution Internship Program (NNSA-MSIIP) provides paid opportunities for students enrolled at eligible minority serving institutions to come to ORNL for summer or year-long internship opportunities involving projects focused on engineering, science, research, technology, policy, business, and government relations. These internships offer the flexibility of on-site or remote participation.
Program Details
- Summer only
- 12-weeks
- full time experiences
- Experiences can be extended to one year with part time participation
Eligibility Overview
• US Citizen
• Age +18
• 3.0+ GPA
• enrolled as a part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited Minority Serving Institution
Pay and Allowances
• a weekly stipend of $750-$950 dependent on education level
• travel reimbursement up to $1000 for travel expenses to and from your current address
• A weekly housing allowance dependent on the terms of the appointment
